I use gloves made by "body glove", I find them to be really good and don't cost the earth, the little grips built in the fingers and thumbs are good too.

The only body glove that I  could  find on the www was an American Firm that sold wetsuits.

But I  could  NOT find gloves on their (user hostile) website!

MC,
If you send me you're address I would be more than willing to send you a couple of free pairs to try them out first, I will find out the exact cost per box if required.
Let me know if I can help any further.
Regards
Ryan

I'm not sure with the box of gloves I have at the moment, they fit me well. But past supplies the boxes had a pair of guide lines for quick fit referencing of size.

Under normal circumstances it means a moderator/administrator has pinned it to the top of the page as being important.  but in this case ?

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Seventh is right, somehow this thread became a sticky.

I e-mailed Andy Coates and asaked him to demote it back to an ordinary thread, he's done it for us now.

Thank you Andy,

Bryan

thought my input was about me not being able to get gloves that fit me.  hehehe...

i think i'll buy a batch of those gloves i found on ebay and hope they stand up to a bit of punishment. i like turning in the winter but not when i cant feel my fingers. if these are thick enough they may keep me warm whilst giving me the dexterity you have wearing none.

I doubt you will ever have the dexterity I have with or without gloves.
But you will always be ahead of me on selling crap wood to trusting people.

I certainly would never wear gloves for woodturning in my opinion it is dangerous.just drop a disposable glove on a revolving piece of wood and see how quickly it wraps around it I would not want my fingers in there.

The gloves I ordered from Seventhdevil's ebay link have just arrived and I am happy enough with them. They are certainly bigger than others I have tried but still a pretty tight fit and the fingers never seem long enough so.... not perfect but the best I have seen so far. Perfectly OK for glueing etc.

glad to hear someone has taken the plunge before me, you can be my lab rat.

do they seem good enough for using when oiling???

i find that the fingers are never long enough either but apparently i have pianists fingers (really long) and never think gloves are big enough.

I have just been doing some polyurethane gluing with them and they are pretty good. My fingers are long ( you are a bowler, the ball driller said he had never come across a hand as big as mine !! ) the fingers made it look as if they were webbed but I could work them down, there is plenty of stretch. Same with the length, they didn't come far up the wrist but you could stretch and work them up a bit further.
There is only one true determiner. Would I buy them again ? Early days yet but so far. Yes.
