I don't normally like glass wine-glasses and goblets set onto wooden stems; the transition from wood to glass never works for me, but these seem to overcome that problem. I like them.

Purple heart and Yew, but you don't say what's in them. Guess it does not matter now as they are probably empty!

Like Les, I've never been struck on the goblet and stubby stem idea with a wooden stem and base, but I also agree that these really work and looks like a turned glass goblet ought to look.

Likely a drop of Mulled Wine ... and Piesporter Michelsberg ... not that I'm ..

Do like these, for sure they'll be safe and hold that favorite tipple ... then not for long.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
