A bit of fun
« on: November 12, 2014, 09:40:14 PM »
OK...no great artistic merit here, just as there's no great technical skill, but I've had a bit of a laugh with these.

The penguins were for the John Lewis Partnership hotel that's been so helpful and supportive of my work....whilst Mr & Mrs Snowfolk and family were for the window display in the shop where they sell a lot of my stuff.
Happy days....Les  :D
Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

I have a load of both snowmen and penguins in stock and demand for more !!  some up to 30 " tall , slightly different to these but essentially the same !!  They are all called dougie or scot ... why ..... because they are made from either douglas fir or scots pine !!

Smashing.

There have been times in my life when I wished I could hang my kids up like that.  :)

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

I love the penguins, Les. Very pertinent with the John Lewis Christmas ad at the moment. The snowman family is good too, but the penguins are my favourite. Well done.

It's getting to look a lot like Christmas !!!! .. Cold front blowing in from North Wales .. Sooo cold there's a chance of a few Penguins and a touch of Snow-men ...    ;D ..

On the Warm Front ... Turned out some colorful pieces yet again, Mr G, Mrs J & Juniors. Do like them. Les.

  Cheers for them ..  Dewi

An idle moment on the lathe turns out some very whimsical pieces. I like them and my grandkids would fight over them to boot. :)
