Considering this bowl will not be a "practical " bowl.. ie... on a table to keep fruit in ...I think it should best be displayed on a shelf .. so it will be viewed in profile then the foot I feel is ideal as it is ( possibly smaller ) but definately with a foot... IMO .. It is bordering on a vase in style , and is similar to some of Bert Marsh's pieces

that`s the fun part of turning wood with cracks in,turning it as thin as it`ll go before it explodes or doesn`t as the case maybe haha,cheers,

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Must be a Dryad, they live in trees, liked it so much refused to leave when it was cut down. Les has turned it a new home.
