Interesting work, I like the crack covering work but the bigger disk in the base might be a little much. But it sits against the black colouring as an interesting effect.

I seem to remember seeing something like this in woodturning some months ago? So was it inspired by that or how did you come by the idea.

Also what is the source of copper foil and glue used to affix it please.

I have looking at many sources recently on converting wood defects into work piece enhancers,  so I may have seen it in woodturning or spotted it on the web.

The leaf and glue come from good old ebay this link is for the copper but the seller has the glue and much  more.
