Well I think we have had some very good replies to this thread and I re-iterate that I thoroughly enjoy my job,
think of the pleasure that you guys get from your wood turning hobby.........now imagine that everyday and that is what my life is like. Happy? you bet I am, doing a job you love is not really a job at all. I do get times when I just can't believe people will pay me to do this!!
Off days? yes I suppose I do get them some times but very rarely. When that happens I go down the bookshop or into town for coffee and a wander for an hour or so,or take the dog for a walk.
Enthusiastic? you could say that, if you are not interested in turning you would hate to sit next to me on a bus trip.
I have not tried to tie down the reasons that we all turn as there are so many but I think it is safe to say we wish to be creative and turning is a form of escapism.
