With appologies to Stuart Mortimer
« on: December 20, 2013, 10:03:28 AM »
This is my take on a Stuart Mortimer vase,
The body is Bramley apple. the lid Sycamore sprayed with Car body paint.
The apple was rotten from top to bottom through the centre which determined the top and bottom shape. ( to large in my opinion)
C&C welcome

Not sure that apologies are needed, they say that imitation is the highest form of flattery. I admire the skill and patience involved in this type of work, can't imagine ever doing it myself so hats off to you. If I were to be critical it would only be that I think the finial would have been better if a bit narrower but as I don't do this type of work myself I won't LOL.

I'm with Pete, I think Stuart would be thrilled that someone had the courage to take on, not only his open spiral work, but one of such dimensions.

Wonderful to see such effort portrayed here in this forum, very well done indeed.

That's a great looking piece. No apologies needed, as far as I can see. Well done. Malcolm.

It always feels good to have your hard work recognised.

Congratulations and well deserved.

Just one problem, what are you going to follow it up with?

John well done. This just proves that if the effort is put in ,the end product is worth it. A lovely piece and deserving an award.
