Any ideas finished.
« on: November 29, 2013, 11:11:42 PM »
The plinth and ship was turned by me from one piece of oak burr. Then bleached the bowl was turned from olive (sacrilege I know) Diane then pierced textured using hot wire pyro the bowl and ship. The bowl was coloured with acrylics and both finished in clear acrylic spray, the Roman coins are cast in pewter then aged. How the wife got from your comments on past post to a ship burial I don't know maybe you can work it out.

Thanks guys  :D

:o ... I'd not seen that coming ..  ;D .. it is so far re-moved from the past comments .. I've lost the plot .. Roman coins and a Saxon burial at Sea .. I've to give credit for this one.. I think you've burnt the box here, let alone outside of it.

Let you off on the Olive .. but the Oak ..  :o ..  ;D .. and if you'd charred the edges ..  :'( ..

Well done the pair of you, one stunning piece.

You've got one of those as well have you, I know just where your coming from!

How did Diane get from our suggestions to the Sutton Hoo burial, easy, she discounted everything we thought of and came up with something completely different (again).

And what a 'different' it is, it really is a work of art from the both of you.

Are these sold though a gallery, go straight to collectors, do they clutter up your home, is there anywhere we can see them on display - just asking as I thing the photos are good but real life viewing would be wonderful

Hello Diane & Tony,
Once again you have hit the mark since you have had lessons from your Granddaughter I don't mean the woodturning or the enhancement of your pieces( much more technical advice)  ;D ;D ;D Now you are posting your pieces on the Forum it is great thank you.
I went to the Worcester Museum this week and looked at the display there very good indeed.

                                        Kind Regards John
