I was researching some trees, as I have just acquired two Hawthorns and came on to this site.www.2020site.org/trees.
Has some useful info on timber uses.

Hi John....I used some hawthorn recently, to make some Christmas tree baubles, it was good to turn and gave a good finish....quite dense, which you'd expect with a slow-growing wood.

Hawthorn and blackthorn are my two favourite indigenous woods. You can get amazing figuring and colouring in both, especially if the wood comes from an old hedge as it gets twisted and bent so the grain goes all over the place.
