....and I'd agree with you 100%. To think that we used to throw spalted timber on the fire years ago; what were we thinking of. 3 lovely little boxes that are giving me ideas and making me think outside my narrow little box. Great finish on them, as well. What do you use?

I must be honest these are my business partners work of art... I am not that clever yet, he is very clever and has 40 years on me turning, I am slowly picking up his secrets :)... Spalted wood is my favourite and I just love it... and to think it is just the wood rooting its amazing....

The best I have found is spalted apple this is amazing as well...

I will ask him what finishes he has used on them and get back to you  :)
