A piece in Yew
« on: January 10, 2013, 09:00:17 PM »
When I started this piece I was going to keep it crisp and with a bit of decoration. As I got into it I liked what I saw and decided to keep the lines soft and free flowing. Dimensions 11.5in x 2in finished with Finishing Oil.

Terry,

This little beauty has slipped pass, it's too nice not to comment, just where do any of us start with a design and can we say we've finished, it is with a painting, the Artist can say it's never finished, something can always added and in some paintings taken away, painted over, even a complete canvas.

You have kept to a crisp an free flowing form, I wonder as too the flow from the rim into the base, as it's not clear.

Well done and thank you.

Terry, apologies for my rudeness, What a wonderful colour, such a pale honey shade as far a yew goes. And you've managed to bring the shine up well with your chosen finish.

David, your not the only one to miss this one. I must have peeped in at work then not come back to it.

Hello terry,
very nice indeed, lovely colour. I think Yew is one of my favourite timbers to turn and polish.
