gluing advice

I would like to start making some small boxes, and have just bought some hinged lids, could anyone give me some advice on which adhesive to use, as the glue I have seems very stringy, and I think it would leave marks and visible signs of use.

the best glue to glue the hinges on is araldite two part epoxy stuff

Hi Ian,I agree with turners cabin, use an epoxy type adhesive, I have tried many super glues for this but most have failed. I apply the epoxy with a cocktail stick just to control the amount applied but I also put a very small groove on the tenons to prevent the glue from squeezing out on the finished surface.

super glue is great for some things but its just far to brittle for this job i tryd it and the lid fell off  :(
