Latest collaboration.
« on: August 02, 2019, 10:26:06 AM »
This one has yet to be polished, I wait 24 hours to make sure the ink is dry. It is 5" tall and 3£ dia at the top. C&C welcome as always. A kingfisher on reed mace and a holly blue butterfly.

The simple form is a great 'canvas' for the artwork. Reminds me of some ceramics my mother had which I think came from China in the '50's. Like it :)

I spotted this elsewhere, but think it worthy of another response. What I really like is the iridescence of the blue, which perfectly captures that of the kingfisher. For me, it brings back memories of the many sightings of kingfishers when we owned a narrow boat.

Thanks both. The original style is loosely based on oriental ceramics Mike so it would seem familiar. The irridescence is even more pronouced now it has been polished Les. Mo uses a little bit of th Sonja paint to bring that in.

A very worthy collaboration choice of bird and butterfly is excellent and the turned form suits it so well
