Myford ML8 Refurbishment
« on: July 07, 2019, 10:47:42 PM »
Hi, someone has given me a Myford ML8 and it is in need of a lot of tlc. I have stripped it down and have the tail stock working nicely, the tube is in good condition also. I am stuck with the headstock which does not run freely so I need to strip it down to get it cleaned and moving. On the outboard end there is the end of the main shaft with a LH thread. Behind that is a collar retained by two grub screws. The collar is threaded on and I cannot get it to move. I am not even sure if it is a LH or RH thread. Can anyone advise?

I'm sure that somebody on this forum will know, but for now, check out the www.lathes.co.uk link to your lathe for drawings and specs.
