It just goes to show that Martin hasn't actually figured out how these things work. if you put water based stains on a piece of wood, and you want to blend them, then you need to use either plain water or something else that's also water based, e.g. an acrylic sealer. Any, let me repeat, ANY finish will pop the colours. The cellulose finish does not and cannot reactivate the colours, as they are fixed by the oil already. I've always been a little suspicious of this guy, and now I know why.
