Copy turning with a difference
« on: August 24, 2016, 09:53:34 AM »
Following on from Les's post, Like a lot of turners, copying is not my favourite way of earning money. Sometimes though it is a challenge. The customer wants three of the smaller ones and one large one. These are from an old house and apparently about 100 years old, made of pine and falling apart as you touch them. Measurements are guesswork as there is a century of flaky paint on them as well.
These are before and after photos. Just a bit of carving to do to finish them.

Turners don't make mistakes, they have design opportunities

I don't thing wood hardener would have helped them.

You've done a nice job of reproducing them from what was left though. Recon they'll last another 100 years.
