On Tuesday night my Brother Chris did a Demonstration in our local woodturning club He stayed over night and yesterday morning we had a few hours and made some Apples and Pears.

One thing I have never been able to getto look right is fruit. You both seem to have the knack though. I have another go everynow and then as they are supposedly good sellers. perhaps i need to get some tuition on them lol.

Thanks Pete funny things Apples and Pears they either look right or they can look very wrong.
My brother Chris and I sell a lot but they have to look perfect shape and finish
I have seen some that don't remotely look right and the difference is how much they sell for

One reason I haven't tried to sell them, as you say although in nature they can come in all shapes and sizes turn them and if you don't get them right they are 'orrible. Seen too many bad ones to embarass myself until I get it right.

I fully agree with George.

Pick up any (real) apple and it will look like an apple but in you minds eye there is something you think of as an 'Apple', the trick is turning that one.

A nice batch of apples and pears. The apples I find no problem but when it comes to pears let just say the go pear shape but not literally.

A demonstrator at our club said his apples sell because the are heart shaped.
