Ian Outshoorn, If anything it's for the Pohutukawa.. one stunning piece of lumber ... would be cautious as to him stopping the piece that big even if it's 500rpm and rough cut too ... still has all his fingers.

As you say David, a stunning piece of timber and I wouldn't want to stop it that way. There seems to be a lot of tool marks left on it ..... or is that not what I am seeing ?

Hi John, few, even in the original Wow video link and image posted have realized has to the piece is 2' (600mm)(24") still no reason for shifting the stance, the 2nd video to this one, He has taken on board the comments made more on camera location, angle and framing of the work, no one picked up (even me) as you've done.

The end however it's done, He has some impressive pieces on His site.

Odd things videos, I'd swear that the outside is going anti clockwise while th centre is going clockwise LOL.

Think I'd have preferred to place the platter face down, put the chuck on the tenon and tighten, then mount on the head-stock rather than fit it while the chuck was mounted. He might have got it right but for something that big I'd rather not take any chances.
