Proxon mill/drill bit + Axminster pensanders
« on: February 12, 2013, 10:27:19 PM »
Xmas came at last,I bought a few bits from Axmister, the 2 I have used so far are the Proxon mill/drill bit(2mm) and the Aminster set of 4 sanding pens in various grits. The pen sanders are really good for detail sanding, they are aprox 6m bands on a spring loaded piece of plastic, and keep tortion very well, you can use the fine point or the rounded end to sand. The mill/drill bit(2mm) I have used in the high speed motor as a router for thinning down areas to be pierced,I had to make a plate with a 6mm hole as the base hole was to large to control the 2mm depth of cut I wanted, then in the flexi drive for the piercing,I tried using it for piercing just in the motor, but had a distict lack of control that way, heres some pics so you can see what I mean, regards,

Eric.
