Title: The biggy
Post by: bodrighywood on October 27, 2019, 05:11:11 PM
When we do shows we usually try and have one or two pieces that are made to attract attention more than with expectations of selling quickly. Really for someone with a massive tree or for the centre of a large swag or garland.  Overall height 310mm ( 12ins ) width 90mm (3.5ins ) It's decorated all around with the ivy and mistletoe the berries of which are silver so they shine when it catches the light without being glitzy. Body is hollowed out and beech, finials are macassar ebony.

C&C welcome

Pete (and Mo of course LOL)

Nice piece, though I think it should be by Mo with a bit of cutting by Pete :)

True, true. The ones that I do without Mo decorating are made from wood with character, dramatic graining, spalting that sort of thing. The plain ones are madce specifically for her to beautify.

Nice piece and Mo does some great paint(or should that be ink) work on these pieces.

Like you I feel that plain woods are a canvas for painting and texturing.
