Ornamental cherry which once stood in my garden. Turned from the trunk which is only 6" diameter as it was only a young tree. Finished with Acrylic sander sealer and an Acrylic gloss lacquer. Measures 6 1/2" X 4 1/2" X 3 1/2". Managed to lose the bark amongst the shavings so no chance of sticking it back on.

It's quite tricky to make a natural-edge bowl that deep and get the quality of finish that you appear to have, so you've done well. A great looking little bowl.

Thank you, reminded me I need a natural edged bowl for Thursday, I may pinch your design ;)

Thank you Les and Twisted Trees. I managed to get a good finish off of the tool but even then sanding took quite a bit of time as it had to be all done by hand, I was not going to try this with it spinning.

I think you've done extremely well with this one. Most bowls that stretch this far around a trunk section don't look right, the curve fails to follow smoothly. The other issue is the movement in the wood where the pith is, it pushes out from the shape, spoiling the line.
I cannot see either of these issues in this bowl, so a very well done from me.

Thank you Bryan. I did think that it may move but so far it has kept its shape
